It’s been a whirlwind few days at Aptera with a visit from Jan Žagar at Elaphe. For those of you who aren’t familiar, this innovative company manufactures our in-wheel motors. Shown below with new team members Jesse Wood, Karl Schaffner, Matt Bockman and co-CEO Steve Fambro, Jan’s goal was to help us achieve optimum drivability. One of the most advanced technologies on the market, Elaphe’s lightweight and efficient powertrains open up game-changing possibilities. Collaborating with Elaphe has been pivotal to reaching the record-breaking speeds that Aptera vehicles are capable of.
Next steps involve an exciting journey to Slovenia (later this year), where Elaphe’s team will help to test one of Aptera’s vehicles on a low mu track. Elaphe’s facility provides optimal conditions for low-coefficient testing. This round of tests will be dedicated to regenerative breaking and traction control.
