Yellowstone Youth Campus

Andersen is proud to collaborate with Yellowstone National Park on plans for its new Youth Campus which will meet Living Building Challenge (LBC) and Passive House standards – making it the first LBC-certified project located in a national park.

Andersen will showcase the project in a virtual reality experience at Greenbuild 2019 and Yellowstone park ranger, Bob Fuhrman, will be on-hand to discuss the project and the important role the Youth Campus will play in providing residential environmental education programs for youth of all ages.

Lunch & Learn

Andersen Windows & Doors and Yellowstone Forever Present: Lunch & Learn: LBC, High Performance Buildings, and the Importance of a Strong Team

Wednesday November 20th and Thursday November 21st from 12:30 – 1:30 PM

Living Buildings are designed to be high performing in nearly every way. From the energy and water balance to the chemicals and materials used to complete the spaces, these buildings represent the leading edge of the green building movement. Because of the lofty goals associated with these projects, it is crucial that the design and planning phase of the project includes stakeholders from all segments of the project and across multiple sectors.

This session explores building performance through the lens of a Living Building Challenge project in Yellowstone National Park. This interactive discussion will highlight the unique challenges and opportunities of designing and planning for the National Parks system’s first Living Building and will emphasize the importance of early and regular communication between the architect, the owner, the building product manufacturers, and countless other stakeholders.

  • Tim Eddy, FAIA, President, Hennebery Eddy architects
