Energy, Economy, Environment (3E) Summit
The 2012 Energy – Economy – Environment (3E) Summit will be held on October 5th at Xavier University’s Cintas Center. The 3E Summit helps small and medium sized businesses save money by reducing energy, fuel, waste and water bills. The 3E Summit will have an exhibit hall where businesses can meet with suppliers and contractors that can help save $green$ while going green. Local businesses will share tips on how they have used utility rebates, tax credits and government programs to save money and help the environment. Sept. 11, 2012 LEED GA – Green Associate Exam Study Class Starts
Prepare to pass the U.S. Green Building Council’s Green Associate Accreditation Exam. Includes the opportunity to work on a LEED Project to obtain the work experience required to take the exam. After the last class Oct. 9, 2012, the instructor will work with each member individually to review their practice tests until they are achieving a 90% score and ready to pass the exam.
When: Five Tuesday evenings from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. – Class will prepare you to pass the Green Associate exam.

Sept. 28, 2012 Civic Garden Center – Proposes Green Building Signage
Green City of the West
Cincinnati – The Civic Garden Center of Cincinnati has been engaging in green-sky thinking and an upcoming exhibit at The Betts House will showcase the flowering of that labor.
The exhibit — Cincinnati Green Building Signage Project — brings to life a proposal from the Civic Garden’s Green Learning Station to identify greater Cincinnati’s stock of green buildings as the area is gaining national attention for its eco-sustainable efforts. The exhibit will run September 29 – October 9, 2012. An opening reception will be held Friday, September 28, 5-8 pm. The Betts House will also have special hours on Saturday, September 29, 12:30 – 5 pm.

5. Sourcing crochet enthusiasts, to teach participants how to make plarn and crochet marketable products.
6. Photo enthusiast are needed to organize and compile “Artist Behind Bars” photos (photoshop). These will be used in the kickstarter video.

P&G and U.S. EPA Sign Research Agreement to Help Company Attain Sustainability Goals
CINCINNATI–(BUSINESS WIRE)–The Procter & Gamble Company (NYSE:PG) and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) National Risk Management Research Laboratory (NRMRL) announced today the signing of a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) to develop new tools to optimize sustainability improvements in manufacturing facilities, and their associated supply chains.
These improvements will directly address the endpoints of P&G’s long-term environmental sustainability vision, announced in September of 2010. This vision includes: 1) Powering its plants with 100% renewable energy; 2) Using 100% renewable materials or recyclate for all its products and packaging; 3) Having zero consumer or manufacturing waste going to landfills; and 4) Designing products that delight consumers while maximizing the conservation of resources.
