East Walnut Hills Homes Earns LEED Gold

Condemned by the city, this 100 year old plus East Walnut Hills home was rehabbed and achieved LEED for Homes Gold July 2014.
The owner, Ellen Faist, was very involved in the renovation project. She purchased items from Habitat for Humanity and bathroom fixtures from Building Value. The kitchen and bathroom counters are ECO recycled glass from a Greener Stock. The kitchen hardwood is reclaimed oak from Ohio.
A variety of green strategies are featured in the home including:
- geothermal heating and cooling
- rain barrels
- energy efficient lighting and sensors
