Martha Schickel Dorff of Schickel Design, architect for all projects, visualized the neighborhood’s renaissance in 2004 starting with the Development of her own office building at 124 W. 14th St. Her vision grew with the conception of City Home townhomes and renovations in 2007 on Pleasant Street and continues with the building at 1401 Race St.
The renovation includes expansion of the park from 6 acres to 8 acres and construction of a parking garage beneath it for up to 450 cars. It will transform a pivotal civic space in Over-the-Rhine, creating a green oasis for residents and visitors in the middle of this urban neighborhood. The park is surrounded by some of the city’s most prestigious cultural institutions including Music Hall, Memorial Hall and the new K-12, $72 million School for the Creative and Performing Arts.
