Non-Profit Organization Help With Direct Marketing Going Digital

Direct Marketing: What You Don’t Know Will Clobber You

Wednesday, September 12, 2012, 8:30 a.m. – 11:30 p.m., Pre-registration at 8:15 a.m.

No, direct mail is not dead; it easily accounts for the lion’s share of all annual fund dollars raised, but nonprofits must also pay close attention to emerging marketing channels: email, mobile, enewsletters, social media and more.

Tom Keller, of Blue Crane Creative leads this session.

The Program

What are the best strategies and tactics to employ in writing for mail, whether it’s distributed on paper or electronically? It’s a time of change and challenge. While some best practices are standing the test of time, others are shifting around like moving targets. But one thing’s for sure: Your very best guesses can leave you stranded by the side of the road. Science trumps common sense every day, and Tom Keller will share with you the results of scientific market testing.

And remember that direct marketing is not just a current revenue stream; it’s the source of a well-developed annual donor base that makes it very easy to identify those with potential for major gifts and planned giving.

The Presenter

Tom Keller has played key roles in direct mail and e-marketing campaigns that produced multi-million-dollar results in annual giving, membership development, and planned giving. Clients include a wide spectrum of national, international and local nonprofits.

Tom began his writing career with Stars & Stripes while serving in the Air Force during the Vietnam Era. He learned direct mail at NCR Corporation. Moving into the nonprofit field in 1976, he never looked back. He formed his own company, recently renamed Blue Crane Creative, in 1999.
