Dear Cincinnatians,
My PBS documentary “Cincinnati LEEDs the Nation” airs on CET (PBS) this Sunday at 2:30. Tune in and tell a friend. The Enquirer wrote about it, and we have viewer reaction to the film after two community screenings.
This half-hour documentary tells the the story of amazing achievement by our City as first in the USA to build a Net Zero Energy police station, deeply engaging community from the beginning.
With so many controversial development projects in Cincinnati currently NOT engaging neighbors, the film shows how to do it right…a new model and best practice.
This film is timely since taxpayers will soon be funding a new District 5 police station. Inexplicably, the city is not following the District 3 model for the new District 5, declining to engage citizens and choosing the site without their input.
Neighborhoods served by District 5 Police include Camp Washington, Clifton, Mt. Airy, College Hill and Northside. Shouldn’t these residents have the same opportunity with D-5 that west siders had with the new District 3?
Watch the film and you’ll understand why it’s so important. Then, consider calling council members to request they take action….before it’s too late.
My best,
Laure Quinlivan
