Feb. 1, 2012 from 6 to 8 p.m. at greensource CINCINNATI, 19 East 8th St., Cincinnati, OH 45202.
There is no charge for the tour and presentation but we do ask you to RSVP to Green Cincinnati chuck.lohre@greencincy.wpmudev.host, 513-260-9025, 126A West 14th St., Cincinnat, OH 45202 by Jan. 25, 2012.
The first hour will be a tour of the building with special attention to the HVAC systems. The second hour will be a presentation of the eQUEST building modeling and the input of the HVAC systems for LEED Certification. We’ll try to take the mystery out of the LEED requirements and you’ll learn about other design functions of eQUEST to encourage energy efficiency.
If you would like to learn more about the process download eQUEST’s LEED_Analysis.pdf and the USGBC’s Advanced_Energy_Modeling_for_LEED_V1_5b.pdf.
The secret to energy modeling is to model the building and systems as simply as possible but no more. You’ll learn what it will take to meet LEED EAc1 but you will also learn how to use the Exceptional Calculation Method and how it can be used to demonstrate measurable environmental benefits to HVAC systems not included in eQUEST.
