Cincinnati – The 42nd Cincinnati Earth Day Celebration, themed “One Earth, One Chance” is set for Saturday, April 21 at Sawyer Point from Noon- 5 p.m.
This free, family-friendly event hosted by the Greater Cincinnati Earth Coalition and the Environmental Protection Agency, will feature live music, delicious food, a 3rd-7th grade Student Recycled Costume Contest and Fashion Show, and an environmental awards presentation recognizing individuals and business who’s efforts on behalf of the environment make Greater Cincinnati a beautiful place to live .
More than 75 vendors and exhibitors will sell earth-friendly products and offer hands-on environmentally educational activities, including rock climbing, a kayak paddle pool, and a petting zoo that the whole family will enjoy.
The Main Stage schedule of events:
• 12:20, 3, 4 p.m.: Live music by Jody Stapleton and The Generals, Wild Carrot and Magnolia Mountain
• 1 p.m.: Reading of Mayor Mark Mallory’s Proclamation
• 1:10 p.m.: Environmental Awards presentation:
o Citizen: Regina Faulkner
o Business: Cincinnati Metro, Public Transportation
o Student: Brian Kunkemoeller, University of Cincinnati
o Teacher: Ellen McGrath, St. Teresa of Avila School
o Government: City of Cincinnati Office of Environmental Quality
• 1:30 p.m.: Student Recycled Costume Contest and Fashion Show
• 2:20 p.m.: Planet Protectors Parade
• 2:30 p.m.: Animal show by Cool Critters
