Modern massing is paired with natural materials to create a home that balances clean lines and open spaces with traditional materials. While the house is quite modern in appearance, the shake siding and gridded windows make the home feel warmer, and are a gesture to the historic homes in the surrounding neighborhood. Wentz Design worked together with their clients to prioritize functionality within the modern aesthetic, while also ensuring the house feels at home with the older residences on the street.
