Green Cincinnati Green Media Coalition – The purpose of this Coalition is to assist the City of Cincinnati Office of Environmental Quality in promoting sustainability.
Jan. 14 , 2011, “Introduction to Community-Based Social Marketing” (this is different than social media) webinar from 12 noon to 1:30 PM at Green Cincinnati Education Advocacy offices, 126A W 14th St., near Music Hall. We want to introduce colleagues to community-based social marketing. It is recognized as one of the most effective voluntary methods for promoting a wide range of desired behaviours, from composting and bicycling to proper nutrition and safe sex. Community-based social marketing offers a particularly pragmatic approach that stresses the reduction of barriers to taking the desired actions, direct contact among community members, the use of proven tools of change, and continuous program improvement, The webinar draws on Doug McKenzie-Mohr, Ph.D.’s Fostering Sustainable Behavior work on community-based social marketing, as well as other social marketing theory, offered by Cullbridge Marketing, and Tools of Change, Canada. No charge for attendance but please RSVP by Jan. 13.
